## How to use it
### 1. Connect Browser
Enable the **Manus Browser Operator** in the Manus **Connectors** tab. A browser extension will be installed to link Manus with your browser.
### 2. Grant Access
When you assign a task requiring web access, Manus will ask for permission to control your browser. Grant access to allow the agent to take over.
### 3. Autonomous Action
Manus works in a dedicated tab to complete your task. It uses your logged-in sessions to navigate websites, gather information, and perform actions as instructed.
## What you need to know
### Local vs. Cloud Browser
The Browser Operator uses your **local browser**, which is ideal for tasks requiring access to sites where you are already logged in. This avoids CAPTCHAs and security checks. For other tasks, Manus uses an isolated **Cloud Browser**.
| Feature | Manus Browser Operator (Local) | Cloud Browser |
| ------------------ | --------------------------------------- | -------------------------------------- |
| **Environment** | Your local desktop browser | Isolated, sandboxed cloud environment |
| **Authentication** | Uses your existing browser logins | Requires logging in within the session |
| **Best For** | Authenticated sessions, sensitive sites | General web tasks, broad research |
### Security and Control
You have full control over the Browser Operator. You must authorize every session, and you can stop the agent at any time by simply closing the browser tab. All actions are logged for complete transparency.
## Tips
* **Use for Authenticated Sites:** Best for tasks on sites like LinkedIn, CRMs, or premium tools you are already logged into.
* **Be Specific:** Give clear, step-by-step instructions for the best results.
* **Monitor Complex Tasks:** Keep an eye on the dedicated browser tab for multi-step workflows to ensure they run smoothly.
## FAQ
You authorize each session and can stop it at any time. All actions are logged, and Manus never stores your passwords.
Chrome and Edge are currently recommended. Support for other browsers is coming soon
You can start and monitor tasks from mobile, but the Operator runs on your desktop browser, which must be online.
A: You can take over by clicking into the tab or stop the task completely by closing the tab.
# Cloud browser
Source: https://manus.im/docs/features/cloud-browser
Manus's cloud-based browser that operates like a real person
## What is Cloud Browser?
Cloud Browser is Manus's dedicated browser environment that runs in the cloud. Unlike traditional AI assistants that can only read text, Manus can actually operate this browser like a real person—visiting websites, clicking buttons, filling forms, extracting data, and completing multi-step workflows.
More importantly, **you can log into your personal or work accounts** in this browser, authorizing Manus to perform tasks that require authentication—such as checking your email, updating your CRM, posting on social media, or accessing premium research tools.
This transforms Manus from a text-based assistant into an agent that can take action on your behalf across the web.
## Why Cloud Browser Matters
Most AI tools can only work with information you provide. They can't visit websites, interact with web applications, or access content behind logins.
Cloud Browser enables Manus to:
* **Browse the web autonomously** to gather real-time information
* **Log into your accounts** to perform authenticated actions
* **Interact with web applications** like a human would
* **Extract data** from websites that don't have APIs
* **Complete multi-step workflows** across multiple web pages
This is what makes Manus a true AI agent, not just a chatbot.
## How Cloud Browser Works
### 1. Manus Operates the Browser
When you give Manus a task that requires web access, Manus automatically opens Cloud Browser and navigates to the relevant websites.
Manus:
* Opens Cloud Browser
* Visits relevant news sites, databases, and startup directories
* Extracts information from multiple sources
* Compiles results into a structured report
You see everything Manus is doing in real-time.
### 2. You Can Log Into Your Accounts
For tasks that require authentication, you can log into your accounts in Cloud Browser. Manus will then use those authenticated sessions to perform actions on your behalf.
**Example**:
"Check my LinkedIn account for partnership inquiries this week and draft responses"
Manus:
* Opens Cloud Browser
* Accesses your logged-in LinkedIn account
* Drafts personalized responses for your review
### 3. Take Over When Needed
When Manus encounters complex verifications (SMS codes, CAPTCHA, multi-factor authentication), the system will prompt you to **"Take Over"** the browser.
**How Take Over Works**:
1. Manus encounters a verification challenge
2. You receive a notification to take over
3. You complete the verification (enter code, solve CAPTCHA, etc.)
4. You hand control back to Manus
5. Manus continues the task
This ensures Manus can complete tasks even when human verification is required.
### 4. Security and Privacy
Your login credentials and browsing activity are managed with strict security:
* **Encrypted sessions**: All browser sessions are encrypted
* **Isolated environments**: Each user has a separate, isolated browser instance
* **No credential storage**: Manus doesn't store your passwords
* **Access control**: You control which accounts Manus can access
* **Session management**: You can log out or clear sessions anytime
## Cloud Browser Settings
You can configure Cloud Browser in **Manus Settings → Cloud Browser**.
### Available Settings
| Setting | Description |
| :-------------------------- | :----------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Logged-in Accounts** | View and manage accounts you've logged into in Cloud Browser |
| **Session Management** | Log out of specific accounts or clear all sessions |
| **Take Over Notifications** | Configure how you're notified when take over is needed |
| **Browser History** | View recent Cloud Browser activity |

* "Research these 20 companies on Crunchbase and create a funding summary"
* "Post this announcement to our company Twitter and LinkedIn accounts"
## Important: Data Center IP Considerations
### Cloud Browser Uses Data Center IPs
Cloud Browser operates from data center IP addresses, not residential IPs. This means:
* Some websites may trigger additional verification (CAPTCHA, security checks)
* Certain services may flag the activity as automated
* You may encounter more frequent authentication challenges
### When to Use My Browser Instead
For tasks that require residential IP addresses or encounter frequent verification challenges, consider using [**My Browser (Browser Operator)**](https://www.notion.so/Cloud-Browser-2b27ff657cfa8049ad05dba0e33d9dc5?pvs=21) instead.
**My Browser** uses your local browser with your actual IP address, which:
* Avoids data center IP detection
* Reduces CAPTCHA and verification prompts
* Works better with security-sensitive websites
* Maintains your existing logged-in sessions
### Choosing Between Cloud Browser and My Browser
| Use Cloud Browser When | Use My Browser When |
| :------------------------------------- | :-------------------------------------------- |
| Researching public websites | Logging into security-sensitive accounts |
| Extracting data at scale | Performing actions on banking/financial sites |
| Running long-running tasks | Avoiding CAPTCHA challenges |
| You don't mind occasional verification | You need residential IP address |
| Task doesn't require login | Website blocks data center IPs |
**Example**:
* ✅ Cloud Browser: "Research 50 competitors and extract their pricing"
* ✅ My Browser: "Log into my bank and download last month's statements"
## Tips for Effective Cloud Browser Use
### Log Into Accounts in Advance
**✅ Good**: Log into frequently used accounts (Gmail, Notion, LinkedIn) before assigning tasks
**Why**: Manus can immediately access these accounts without interrupting your workflow for login
***
### Be Specific About Actions
**✅ Good**: "Check my Gmail for emails from potential clients this week. Draft responses highlighting our Q4 availability."
**❌ Vague**: "Check my email"
Specific instructions help Manus perform exactly the right actions.
***
### Use Take Over for Complex Verifications
When Manus prompts for take over:
* Respond quickly to keep the task moving
* Complete only the verification step
* Hand control back to Manus immediately
***
### Monitor First-Time Logins
The first time you log into an account in Cloud Browser:
* Watch the process to ensure it works correctly
* Complete any first-time verifications
* Confirm Manus can access the account properly
***
### Consider My Browser for Sensitive Sites
For banking, financial accounts, or sites that frequently trigger CAPTCHA:
* Use **My Browser** instead of Cloud Browser
* This avoids data center IP detection
* Reduces verification challenges
***
### Manage Sessions Regularly
Periodically review and clear logged-in sessions:
* Go to **Settings → Cloud Browser → Logged-in Accounts**
* Log out of accounts you no longer need Manus to access
* Clear all sessions if you're changing workflows
## Common Questions
Yes. Cloud Browser uses encrypted sessions, isolated environments, and doesn't store your passwords. You control which accounts Manus can access.
Manus can then perform authenticated actions on your behalf (reading emails, updating CRM, posting content, etc.). You remain in control and can log out anytime.
Yes. You can watch Manus navigate websites in real-time, just like watching someone use a browser
Take Over lets you temporarily control the browser when Manus encounters verifications (CAPTCHA, SMS codes, etc.). You complete the verification, then hand control back to Manus.
Cloud Browser runs in the cloud with data center IPs. My Browser uses your local browser with your residential IP. Use My Browser for security-sensitive sites or to avoid CAPTCHA.
Go to **Settings → Cloud Browser → Logged-in Accounts** and log out of specific accounts.

Real-time collaboration on AI tasks—one workspace, one version, zero confusion
Manus Collab is a real-time collaboration feature that enables teams to work together on Manus tasks. Instead of juggling multiple document versions, scattered email feedback, and endless "latest\_final\_v3" files, Collab provides one shared workspace where your entire team can prompt, edit, and refine work simultaneously.
When you enable collaboration on a task, you create a single source of truth accessible via one link. Everyone sees updates instantly, everyone can interact with Manus directly, and only the task owner consumes credits.
## How It Works
### Enabling Collaboration
**Step 1**: Open the task that needs collaboration
**Step 2**: Find the share button in the task interface
**Step 3**: Click and select "Collaboration" (not just "Share")
**Step 4**: Enter email addresses of collaborators
**Step 5**: Collaborators receive invitation and can join immediately
### Real-Time Collaboration
Once enabled, all participants can:
* **View the task** in real-time as it develops
* **Prompt Manus directly** to make changes or additions
* **See everyone's prompts** and Manus's responses instantly
* **Iterate together** without waiting for exports or updates
### Example Workflow
**Creating a quarterly review presentation**
Create a Q4 performance review deck with sales data, key wins, and goals for Q1

Manus Design View is a powerful extension of the Manus agent that transforms your creative process into a seamless AI design workflow, giving you granular control over every detail.
## What is Design View?
Design View is an integrated feature that allows for complex, multi-step visual workflows. Instead of starting from scratch with every new prompt, you can make precise edits to existing images, ensuring consistency and saving valuable time. Whether you're designing a poster, creating a mood board, or refining a product shot, Design View acts as your creative partner, understanding your intent from start to finish. It is powered by Google's advanced Nano Banana Pro image generation model, ensuring high-quality, photorealistic results.
## How to Use Design View
Using Design View is an intuitive process that combines simple prompts with powerful editing tools. Here’s how you can get started:
### Step 1: Generate Your Initial Concept
Begin by giving Manus a simple prompt to generate your base image.
```
A photorealistic interior shot of a bright, airy living room in a Japandi style. The room has light oak wood floors, a large window with soft natural light, and a low-profile beige sofa.
```
### Step 2: Refine with the Mark Tool
Once you have your initial image, you can use the **Mark Tool** to make precise edits. Instead of writing a new prompt and hoping for the best, you can select specific elements and provide instructions for how to change them.
1. Click the **\[Mark]** tool in the Design View interface. 2. Select the element you want to modify (e.g., a sofa, a plant, a window). 3. Provide a clear and concise instruction for the change.
For example:
\* Select the sofa: `Change this to a muted sage green.` \* Select the plant: `Change this to a wildflower arrangement.` \* Select the window: `Change the leaves to autumn foliage.`
2. Reference Images: You can add elements to your design by providing a reference image. For example, you can add a specific lamp to a room by uploading an image of it.
### Step 3: Edit Text Elements
If your design includes text, such as on a poster or in an infographic, you can easily edit it without disturbing the rest of the image. Click on **"edit text"** and Manus will extract all text elements, allowing you to make changes with ease.
### Mobile Editing
Design View is also available on the Manus mobile app, so you can continue your work on the go.
**Press and Hold to Mark**: Simply press and hold on any area of an image to create a selection. **Voice or Text Input**: Once an area is marked, you can either type your changes or use your voice to record instructions. \
**Batch Your Edits**: Mark multiple areas on an image, add an instruction for each, and send them all to be processed in a single batch.
## What You Need to Know
**Integrated Workflow**: Design View is not a standalone tool; it is an integrated capability of the Manus agent. This allows for a seamless transition between generating ideas, refining visuals, and incorporating them into larger projects.
**Precision and Control**: The Mark Tool gives you a level of control that is not possible with traditional prompting. You can change specific elements of an image without affecting the overall composition, lighting, or style.
## Tips for Better Results
| Tip | Description |
| ------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Be Specific with Instructions** | When using the Mark Tool, provide clear and direct instructions. For example, instead of saying "make this better," say "change the color to a deep blue." |
| **Use High-Quality Reference Images** | When adding elements from a reference image, use a high-quality image with a clear subject for the best results. |
| **Start with a Good Base Image** | The better your initial image, the easier it will be to refine. Spend some time crafting a good initial prompt to get a strong starting point. |
| **Iterate and Refine** | Don't be afraid to make multiple small changes to get your image just right. The power of Design View is in its iterative workflow. |

## What is Mail Manus?
Mail Manus is where you can trigger Manus tasks by forwarding emails to a unique bot address. Instead of switching between your inbox and the Manus app, you can delegate work directly from your email client and receive results back via email.
This approach integrates Manus into existing email workflows, making it particularly useful for processing incoming emails, handling email-based requests, and automating recurring email tasks without leaving your inbox.
## How to set up Mail Manus
**1. Unique Bot Address**: Each user receives a personal Manus email address (e.g., `your-name-abc123@mail.manus.ai`)
Navigate to Settings → Mail Manus and copy your unique bot email address.
**2. Forward or CC**: Forward emails to this address, or CC it in conversations to trigger tasks
**3. Task Processing**: Manus analyzes the email content, attachments, and any instructions you provide
**4. Email Delivery**: Results are sent back to your inbox as email responses, with attachments when applicable
**5. Security**: Only emails from pre-approved sender addresses can trigger tasks
## Advanced Features: How to setup email workflows
### Workflow Automation
For recurring tasks like travel bookings, expense receipts, or invoice processing, you can set up **workflow emails**—dedicated Manus bot addresses that automatically handle specific types of emails.
### What are Workflow Emails?
Workflow emails are specialized Manus bot addresses designed for specific recurring tasks. Instead of using your main Mail Manus address, you create purpose-specific addresses like:
* `travel@manus.bot` - For flight, hotel, and conference bookings
* `expenses@manus.bot` - For receipts and expense tracking
* `invoices@manus.bot` - For invoice processing and logging
### How to Set Up Workflow Automation
**Step 1: Create Your Workflow Email**
In Manus Settings → Mail Manus → Workflow Emails, create a new workflow email:
```
Name: Business Travel
Address: travel@manus.bot
Default Prompt: "Build my itinerary, add check-ins to Calendar, set reminders, and buffer time for travels."
```
**Step 2: Set Up Email Filter**
In your email client (Gmail/Outlook), create a filter to match specific emails:
**Example: Travel Bookings Filter (Gmail)**
```
From: noreply@trip.com, notifly@notifly.flyscoot.com
Subject: Business travel
Includes words: "booking confirmation," "flight," "hotel"
```
**Example: Expense Receipts Filter (Gmail)**
```
From: no-reply@uber.com
Subject: Uber E-Receipt
```
**Step 3: Connect Filter to Workflow Email**
Set the filter action to auto-forward matching emails to your workflow email:
```
When message matches criteria:
☑ Forward it to: travel@manus.bot
```
**Step 4: Automatic Processing**
Once set up, matching emails are automatically:
1. Forwarded to your workflow email
2. Processed by Manus using the default prompt
3. Results sent back to your inbox
### Real-World Workflow Examples
**Travel Management Workflow**
```
Workflow Email: travel@manus.bot
Filter: From airlines, hotels, conference organizers
Default Prompt: "Extract: dates, locations, confirmation numbers.
Add to Google Calendar with 1-hour buffer before flights.
Set reminders 24h and 2h before departure."
Result: Every booking confirmation automatically becomes calendar events
with appropriate reminders and travel buffers.
```
**Expense Tracking Workflow**
```
Workflow Email: expenses@manus.bot
Filter: From Uber, Grab, Lyft (receipt emails)
Default Prompt: "Extract: date, amount, category, merchant.
Log to Notion Expenses database."
Result: All ride-sharing receipts automatically logged to expense tracker.
```
**Invoice Processing Workflow**
```
Workflow Email: invoices@manus.bot
Filter: Subject contains "Invoice" + has PDF attachment
Default Prompt: "Extract: invoice number, date, amount, vendor, due date.
Add to Accounting spreadsheet.
Set reminder 3 days before due date."
Result: Incoming invoices automatically parsed and tracked with payment reminders.
```
**Customer Feedback Workflow**
```
Workflow Email: feedback@manus.bot
Filter: Subject contains "feedback" or "review"
Default Prompt: "Analyze sentiment (positive/negative/neutral).
Extract key issues and suggestions.
Post summary to Slack #customer-feedback channel."
Result: Customer feedback automatically analyzed and shared with team.
```
## Security and Privacy
### Approved Senders
Only emails from pre-approved addresses can trigger Manus tasks. Configure approved senders in Settings → Mail Manus → Approved Senders.
**Why**: Prevents unauthorized use of your Manus bot address.
### Email Privacy
Manus processes email content to execute tasks. Emails are handled according to Manus's privacy policy and data handling practices.

# Meeting minutes
Source: https://manus.im/docs/features/meeting-minutes
## What it is
Meeting Minutes is a feature that transforms your real-time discussions into structured notes, serving as a launchpad for immediate execution. It allows you to go from a conversation to a finished deliverable—like a slide deck, website, or social media collateral—all in one seamless flow.
Designed to capture in-person meetings, interviews, or monologues with a single tap, Manus analyzes the recording once your conversation concludes. It delivers a structured summary highlighting the key points, attendees, and a clear breakdown of action items. This solves the common problem of disconnected workflows where notes sit in one tool and action items in another, closing the gap between what is discussed and what is executed.
## How to use it
### Recording a Conversation
1. Click the Meeting Recording icon in your Manus workspace.
2. Begin your conversation. An auto-transcription will appear on the screen as you speak.
3. When the meeting is over, click the Finish button. Manus will automatically process the recording and generate a structured summary of your meeting.
### Executing Action Items
1. Review the generated summary, which includes key points and assigned to-dos.
2. Use the meeting notes as living context to create deliverables directly within the same task.
3. Invite collaborators (such as the meeting attendees) to the Manus task to go from discussion to final output as a team in one shared space.
## What you need to know
* Intelligent Speaker Recognition: Manus identifies different speakers during the recording and recognizes when names are mentioned. This ensures that action items are assigned with greater accuracy, reducing the need for manual corrections.
* Resilient Capture: You can record with confidence knowing you will not lose your ideas. Meeting Minutes continues to record even if your internet connection drops. An internet connection is only required to start the session and to generate the notes after the recording is complete.
* Credits and Usage: Recording your conversations is free. However, the analysis and generation of the structured notes will consume credits. If you run out of credits, the analysis process will be paused until you top up or upgrade your plan.
* Availability: Meeting Minutes is available today for all Manus users across all subscription tiers.
## Tips
* Use it for solo brainstorming. Meeting Minutes is not just for team meetings; it works exceptionally well for capturing monologues and turning your personal ideas into structured action plans.
* Keep the screen open. While you can close your screen, doing so will stop the recording. You can resume it right where you left off, but keeping the screen open ensures uninterrupted capture.
* Transition immediately to execution. Do not let the notes sit idle. Use the generated summary immediately to prompt Manus to draft follow-up emails, create presentations, or build project outlines within the same task.
## FAQ

# Projects
Source: https://manus.im/docs/features/projects
Projects let you create persistent workspaces with shared instructions and files, so every new task starts with the right context. Organize recurring workflows, collaborate with your team, and eliminate repetitive setup.
## What it is
Manus Projects is a feature that allows you to create persistent, reusable workflows for recurring tasks. A project serves as a dedicated workspace where you can define a **master instruction** and build a **knowledge base** of files and documents. These configurations are automatically applied to every new task created within that project, eliminating the need for repetitive setup.
Projects are designed to solve a common challenge: the work itself may be repeatable, but the setup often is not. By centralizing your instructions and resources in a project, you can ensure consistency across tasks and enable seamless collaboration with your team.
## How to use it
### Creating a Project
To create a new project, follow these steps:
1. Click the **"Create Project"** button (the "+" icon next to "Projects") in your workspace sidebar.
2. Enter a **name** for your project and write the **master instruction** that defines the workflow.
3. Add your **knowledge base** by uploading relevant files and documents.
4. Start creating tasks within your project. Each new task will automatically inherit the project's configuration.
### Pinning a Project
To keep your most frequently used projects easily accessible, you can pin them to the top of your project list. Hover over a project in the sidebar and click the **pin icon** that appears. Pinned projects will always remain at the top, regardless of how you sort the rest of your list.
### Drag and Drop to Organize
You can manually organize your projects by dragging and dropping them into your preferred order. This allows you to prioritize your work and arrange your workspace in a way that reflects your current focus.
### Filtering Tasks
Manus provides a filtering mechanism to help you manage your tasks. Click the filter icon in the task list header to access the following options:
| Filter Option | Description |
| :-------------------- | :------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **All tasks** | Displays all tasks, including those within projects and standalone tasks. |
| **Non-project tasks** | Displays only tasks that are not associated with any project. |
| **Favorites** | Displays tasks you have marked as favorites. |
| **Scheduled** | Displays tasks that have been scheduled for a specific time. |
This is particularly useful for quickly locating standalone tasks that exist outside of your project structure.
***
## What You Need to Know
### Collaboration and Privacy
Projects and individual tasks are **private by default**. When you invite a colleague to a project, they gain access to the shared master instruction and knowledge base. However, they can only see the tasks they have created themselves within that project. To share a specific task, you must explicitly invite them to that task separately.
### Configuration Updates
When a project's configuration is updated, the changes propagate as follows:
| Update Type | When it Takes Effect |
| :---------------------- | :----------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Instruction updates** | Apply the next time you send a message in your current task. |
| **File updates** | Only take effect in new tasks created after the update. |
All previously created tasks remain unaffected and will continue to use the configuration that existed when they were created.
### Availability
Projects are available to all users across all subscription tiers.
***
## Tips
* **Create projects for different types of recurring work.** For example, you could have separate projects for weekly reports, content creation, competitive analysis, and code reviews.
* **Use clear and descriptive names.** A well-named project is easier to find and helps team members understand its purpose at a glance.
* **Write detailed master instructions.** The more specific your instructions, the less context you need to provide in each new task.
* **Keep your knowledge base current.** Regularly update your project files to ensure everyone on your team is working with the latest information.
* **Pin your most active projects.** This keeps them at the top of your sidebar for quick access.
***
## FAQ
Both projects and individual tasks are private by default. You control what you share. When you invite someone to a project, they gain access to the shared master instruction and knowledge base, but they can only see tasks they have created themselves. To share a specific task, you need to explicitly invite them to that task separately.
It depends on what was updated. Instruction updates (system prompts, custom instructions) apply the next time you send a message in your current task. File updates (knowledge base files, project resources) only take effect in new tasks created after the update. All previously created tasks remain unaffected and will continue to use the configuration that existed when they were created. Any new tasks started after the update will follow the new project configuration.
Yes you can, you can think of projects as "folders"
There is no limit to the number of projects you can create. You can create as many as you need to organize your work.

**Import from GitHub**
You can import a Skill directly from a GitHub repository by providing the repository link. This enables you to leverage Skills shared by the open-source community.
### Using a Skill in a Chat
Once a Skill is added to your library, you can activate it at any time during a conversation by using a slash command. Simply type / in the chat input, which will bring up a list of your available Skills. Select the one you want to use to instruct Manus to load its instructions and execute its workflow.
## What You Need to Know
To make the most of Skills, it's important to understand a few key concepts regarding their security and efficiency.
### Verifying Community Skills
While the community is a fantastic source of powerful Skills, it is crucial to verify their contents before use, as they can contain code and shell commands. Manus provides a transparent way to audit a Skill. Before using a new Skill, you can ask Manus to review it for you:
"Review the Skill named community-data-viz-skill. Analyze its SKILL.md file and any associated scripts. Explain what it does, identify any potential security risks, and tell me if it’s safe to use."
Mans will perform a detailed analysis, explaining the Skill's functionality and flagging any potentially risky operations, allowing you to use community-built Skills with confidence.
### Progressive Disclosure for Efficiency
Skills are designed to be highly efficient by using a "Progressive Disclosure" mechanism. This ensures that the agent only loads the information it needs, when it needs it, preserving the valuable context window. The content of a Skill is structured into three levels:
| Level | Content | Load Time | Context Cost |
| :-------------------- | :------------------------------------------------------- | :--------------------------------------------------- | :--------------------------------- |
| Level 1: Metadata | The Skill's name and description | Loaded at startup | Extremely low (\~100 tokens/Skill) |
| Level 2: Instructions | The main content of the [SKILL.md](http://SKILL.md) file | Loaded when the Skill is triggered via slash command | Moderate (\<5k tokens) |
| Level 3: Resources | Associated scripts, reference files, and other assets | Loaded on demand when referenced in the instructions | Consumed only when used |
## Tips
Start with the Official Library: If you are new to Skills, browse the official library first. It's a great way to see what's possible and learn how they are structured.
Capture Your Best Practices: Don't let a successful workflow be a one-time event. Use the "Build with Manus" feature to turn your personal best practices into reusable Skills.
Collaborate with Your Team: Look out for the upcoming Team Skill Library feature. This will allow you to share and reuse expertise across your entire organization, boosting collective productivity.
## FAQ
Yes. Since Skills are file-based, you can edit the [SKILL.md](http://SKILL.md) file and any associated scripts to refine or update the workflow as needed.
They are complementary technologies. MCP focuses on creating standardized "data pipelines" to connect to external data sources like Gmail or Notion. Skills, on the other hand, provide the "operating manuals" or workflows that can leverage those pipelines to perform complex tasks.
You can ask Manus to search GitHub for open-source Skills. We will also be launching a dedicated Manus Skills website in the future to serve as a central hub for the community.

# Wide Research
Source: https://manus.im/docs/features/wide-research
Parallel multi-agent system for large-scale research and processing tasks.
## What is Wide Research?
Wide Research is Manus's approach to handling tasks that involve processing many similar items—such as analyzing 100 products, researching 50 companies, or generating 20 pieces of content. Instead of using a single AI agent that processes items sequentially, Wide Research deploys hundreds of independent agents that work in parallel.
Each agent receives its own dedicated context and processes one item independently. This architecture solves the context window limitation that causes traditional AI systems to degrade in quality as the number of items increases.
## The Context Window Problem
Traditional AI systems, including most chatbots, operate with a fixed context window—a limit on how much information they can actively process at once. When asked to analyze many items sequentially:
* **Items 1-5**: Detailed, thorough analysis with full context available
* **Items 10-20**: Descriptions become shorter as context fills up
* **Items 30+**: Generic summaries and increased errors as earlier context is compressed or lost
This degradation occurs because the AI must keep all previous items in memory while processing new ones. Research shows this "fabrication threshold" typically occurs around 8-10 items for most AI systems.
## How Wide Research Works
Wide Research uses a fundamentally different architecture:
**1. Task Decomposition**: The main agent analyzes your request and breaks it into independent sub-tasks (e.g., "research company #1", "research company #2", etc.)
**2. Parallel Agent Deployment**: Each sub-task is assigned to a dedicated agent with its own fresh context window
**3. Independent Processing**: Agents work simultaneously, each conducting thorough research without competing for context space
**4. Result Synthesis**: The main agent collects all completed sub-tasks and assembles them into your requested format (table, report, dataset, etc.)
**Result**: Item #250 receives the same depth of analysis as item #1, because each has its own dedicated agent and full context window.
## Quick Start
### Simple Request

# Custom MCP Servers
Source: https://manus.im/docs/integrations/custom-mcp
Build integrations with your internal tools and proprietary systems
## What are Custom MCP Servers?
Custom MCP servers allow you to extend Manus's integration capabilities beyond prebuilt connectors. If your organization uses internal tools, proprietary APIs, or specialized services not covered by standard MCP connectors, you can build a custom server that connects Manus to those systems.
A custom MCP server acts as a bridge between Manus and your internal infrastructure, enabling the same seamless multi-app workflows you get with prebuilt connectors—but tailored to your specific tools and requirements.
## Why Build Custom MCP Servers?
### Internal Systems
Many organizations rely on custom-built tools, internal databases, or proprietary software. Custom MCP servers allow Manus to integrate with these systems, bringing internal data into your AI workflows.
**Examples**:
* Internal CRM or customer database
* Proprietary project management tools
* Custom analytics platforms
* Legacy systems with APIs
### Specialized Services
Some third-party services don't have prebuilt MCP connectors. If you use a specialized tool or niche service, you can build a custom server to connect it to Manus.
**Examples**:
* Industry-specific software
* Regional services not covered by standard connectors
* Emerging platforms without official integrations
### Custom Business Logic
Custom MCP servers can implement business-specific logic, data transformations, or validation rules that go beyond simple API calls. This allows you to enforce organizational policies and workflows within Manus integrations.
**Examples**:
* Approval workflows before data updates
* Data validation against internal standards
* Custom authentication or security requirements
* Multi-step processes specific to your organization
## How Custom MCP Servers Work
A custom MCP server is a lightweight service that implements the Model Context Protocol specification. It exposes endpoints that Manus can call to read data, perform actions, or execute custom logic within your systems.
### Architecture
**Your Internal System** ↔ **Custom MCP Server** ↔ **Manus**
The MCP server sits between Manus and your internal systems, translating Manus requests into actions within your tools and returning results in a format Manus understands.
### Protocol
Custom MCP servers implement a standardized protocol that defines:
* **Tools**: Actions Manus can perform (e.g., "get\_customer\_data", "update\_project\_status")
* **Resources**: Data Manus can read (e.g., documents, records, files)
* **Prompts**: Predefined templates for common operations
## Building a Custom MCP Server
### Prerequisites
* **API access** to the system you want to integrate
* **Development environment** (Node.js, Python, or any language that can run a web server)
* **Understanding of the MCP specification** (available in Manus documentation)
### Basic Implementation
A minimal custom MCP server includes:
1. **Server endpoint**: A web service that responds to MCP protocol requests
2. **Tool definitions**: Descriptions of actions Manus can perform
3. **Authentication**: Secure handling of credentials and API keys
4. **Request handlers**: Logic that executes actions and returns results
### Example: Internal CRM Integration
Here's a conceptual example of a custom MCP server for an internal CRM:
**Tools exposed**:
* `get_customer_info(customer_id)`: Retrieve customer details
* `update_customer_notes(customer_id, notes)`: Add notes to customer record
* `search_customers(query)`: Search customer database
* `create_follow_up_task(customer_id, task_description, due_date)`: Create task
**Authentication**: API key or OAuth token for your internal CRM
**Deployment**: Hosted on your infrastructure or a secure cloud environment
Once deployed, you connect this custom server to Manus, and it appears alongside prebuilt connectors. You can then use natural language prompts like:
* "Get customer information for customer ID 12345"
* "Search for customers in the San Francisco area"
* "Update notes for customer 67890 with our recent conversation"
## Connecting a Custom MCP Server
### Step 1: Deploy Your Server
Host your custom MCP server on infrastructure you control. Ensure it's accessible via HTTPS and has proper security measures in place.
### Step 2: Add to Manus
In Manus, navigate to **Settings → Integrations → Custom MCP Servers** and click **Add Server**.
### Step 3: Provide Server Details
Enter the following information:
* **Server name**: A descriptive name (e.g., "Internal CRM", "Analytics Platform")
* **Server URL**: The HTTPS endpoint where your MCP server is hosted
* **Authentication**: API key, Bearer token, or other credentials required
### Step 4: Test Connection
Manus will verify it can communicate with your server and retrieve the list of available tools.
### Step 5: Start Using
Once connected, your custom tools appear in Manus's available integrations. Reference them in prompts just like prebuilt connectors.
## Security Considerations
### Authentication
Custom MCP servers should implement robust authentication:
* Use API keys, OAuth tokens, or other secure methods
* Never expose credentials in URLs or logs
* Rotate credentials regularly
### Authorization
Implement proper authorization checks:
* Verify that the requesting user has permission to access data
* Enforce role-based access control (RBAC) if applicable
* Log all access attempts for audit purposes
### Data Transmission
* Use HTTPS for all communication
* Encrypt sensitive data at rest and in transit
* Implement rate limiting to prevent abuse
### Network Security
* Deploy MCP servers within your secure network perimeter
* Use firewalls and access controls to restrict who can reach the server
* Consider VPN or private network connections for highly sensitive integrations
## Best Practices
### Tool Design
**Keep tools focused**: Each tool should perform one clear action. Instead of a single "manage\_customer" tool, create separate tools for "get\_customer", "update\_customer", "delete\_customer".
**Provide clear descriptions**: Manus uses tool descriptions to understand when to use each tool. Write clear, specific descriptions that explain what the tool does and when it's appropriate.
**Handle errors gracefully**: Return meaningful error messages that help Manus (and users) understand what went wrong and how to fix it.
### Performance
**Optimize response times**: Manus waits for MCP server responses. Keep operations fast by caching data, using efficient queries, and avoiding unnecessary processing.
**Implement timeouts**: Set reasonable timeouts for API calls to prevent Manus from waiting indefinitely if your internal system is slow or unresponsive.
**Use async operations for long tasks**: If an operation takes more than a few seconds, consider returning immediately with a task ID and providing a separate tool to check status.
### Monitoring
**Log all requests**: Track what Manus is requesting and how your server responds. This helps with debugging and understanding usage patterns.
**Monitor performance**: Track response times, error rates, and usage volume to identify issues before they impact users.
**Set up alerts**: Get notified if your MCP server becomes unresponsive or starts returning errors.
## Example Use Cases
### Internal Knowledge Base
**Scenario**: Your organization has an internal wiki or knowledge base with company policies, procedures, and documentation.
**Custom MCP Server**: Provides tools to search the knowledge base, retrieve specific articles, and find related documents.
**Manus Workflow**: "Search our internal knowledge base for the expense reimbursement policy and summarize the key points."
***
### Custom Analytics Platform
**Scenario**: You have a proprietary analytics platform that tracks business metrics not available in standard tools.
**Custom MCP Server**: Exposes tools to query metrics, generate reports, and retrieve historical data.
**Manus Workflow**: "Pull our customer acquisition cost data for Q4 and create a trend analysis comparing it to Q3."
***
### Legacy System Integration
**Scenario**: Your organization relies on a legacy system that doesn't have modern APIs or integrations.
**Custom MCP Server**: Acts as a wrapper around the legacy system, translating modern API calls into the format the legacy system understands.
**Manus Workflow**: "Check inventory levels in the legacy system for product SKU 98765 and create a reorder request if stock is below 100 units."
***
### Multi-Step Approval Workflows
**Scenario**: Your organization requires approval workflows for certain actions (e.g., budget requests, data access).
**Custom MCP Server**: Implements tools that create approval requests, check approval status, and execute approved actions.
**Manus Workflow**: "Create a budget request for \$50,000 for the marketing campaign and notify the finance team for approval."
## Common Questions
Building custom MCP servers requires development skills. However, the MCP specification is straightforward, and example implementations are available to help you get started.
If a service has a well-documented REST API, you may be able to use Manus's general API calling capabilities without a custom MCP server. However, a custom server provides better integration, clearer tool definitions, and more reliable workflows.
Custom MCP servers should respond within a few seconds for most operations. Longer operations should use async patterns. Manus will time out requests that take too long.
Treat custom MCP servers like any other internal service: version control, automated testing, monitoring, and regular updates. Keep the server in sync with changes to your internal systems' APIs.

# Manus API
Source: https://manus.im/docs/integrations/manus-api
Programmatic access to Manus as a complete AI agent
## What is the Manus API?
The Manus API is a RESTful API that allows developers to integrate Manus directly into their applications, workflows, and systems. Instead of using Manus through the web interface or mobile app, you can trigger tasks, manage files, and receive results programmatically.
This enables you to embed Manus's complete AI agent capabilities—research, analysis, content creation, data processing, and more—into your own products and workflows.
## Why Use the Manus API?
Most AI APIs provide narrow capabilities: text generation, image analysis, or specific tasks. The Manus API gives you access to a complete AI agent that can plan, execute multi-step workflows, use tools, browse the web, and deliver results in multiple formats.
**Traditional AI APIs**: Call an endpoint, get a text response.
**Manus API**: Send a task, Manus plans the approach, gathers information, uses tools, and delivers complete results (reports, presentations, websites, data analysis, etc.).
This transforms how you can integrate AI into your applications—from simple text generation to autonomous task completion.

Local browser automation with your authenticated sessions
## What is Manus Browser Operator?
Manus Browser Operator is a browser extension that enables Manus to operate directly within your local browser environment. Unlike the cloud browser that Manus typically uses, Browser Operator works with your actual browser—complete with your existing logins, sessions, and local IP address.
This transforms your browser from a passive viewing tool into an active workspace where Manus can execute complex tasks using the premium tools and authenticated systems you already access.
## Why Local Browser Matters
### The Authentication Advantage
When Manus works in your local browser, it operates with your trusted credentials and local IP address. This means:
**No Login Barriers**: The system recognizes activity as coming from your trusted machine, eliminating unfamiliar login attempts, CAPTCHA interruptions, and session expiration issues.
**Reliable Access**: Because the activity appears legitimate to websites, it clears standard access barriers automatically and maintains active sessions.
**Premium Tool Access**: Manus can work with subscription services you're already logged into—Crunchbase, PitchBook, SimilarWeb, Financial Times, Semrush, Ahrefs, or any authenticated platform.
### Cloud Browser vs. Local Browser
**Cloud Browser** (Default):
* Sandboxed, isolated environment
* Works across any device without installation
* Ideal for most research, analysis, and content creation tasks
* No local setup required
**Local Browser** (Browser Operator):
* Uses your actual browser with existing sessions
* Access to authenticated systems and premium tools
* Trusted local IP and credentials
* Best for workflows requiring logged-in access
Both work together seamlessly—Manus automatically uses the appropriate environment for each task.
## How It Works
### 3-Step Process
**Step 1: Activate "My Browser" Connector**
Navigate to Connectors and toggle on "My Browser." This tells Manus to use your local browser for tasks requiring web access.
**Step 2: Authorize the Session**
When you assign a task, Manus requests permission to take control. Click "Authorize" to grant one-time access. You remain in command of when and how Manus interacts with your browser.
**Step 3: Monitor in Dedicated Tab**
Manus opens a new tab within a tab group named after your current task. You can:
* Watch the task unfold in real-time
* Take over by clicking into the tab
* Stop instantly by closing the tab
## Real-World Use Cases

# MCP Connectors
Source: https://manus.im/docs/integrations/mcp-connectors
Connect Manus to your team’s tools and enable context-driven creation — moving from idea to validation to live app faster than ever.
## What are MCP Connectors?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) connectors are prebuilt integrations that connect Manus to popular tools and services in your workflow. When you connect an app through MCP, Manus can read data from that app, perform actions within it, and coordinate workflows across multiple platforms—all from a single natural language prompt.
MCP connectors eliminate the need to manually switch between apps, copy information, or perform repetitive tasks across different tools. Instead of working in isolation, Manus becomes a central orchestration layer that understands your entire digital workspace.
### **Integrate Manus with your tools using MCP servers**
**MCP (Model Context Protocol)** is an open standard that connects AI Agents, like Manus, to external tools, services, and data sources. By connecting Manus to tools such as Notion, Atlassian, or Linear, the Manus Agent can use real team context to generate more accurate code, prototypes, and documentation.
When you connect an MCP server, Manus can read structured data (like text from docs, issues, or diagrams) and, where supported, perform limited actions such as creating or updating items. Manus includes several prebuilt MCP servers on all plans.
## **Why connect MCP servers**
In Manus, MCP servers unlock two key capabilities:
* **Bring your existing context into Manus.**\
Manus can read your team’s documentation, tickets, and design files to build prototypes and flows aligned with your standards.
* **Connect Manus to your workflows.**\
Manus can take follow-up actions in your connected tools — such as updating ticket statuses, adding prototype links as comments, or creating new items when supported.
Manus becomes more powerful when it understands your team’s world — eliminating guesswork, speeding up iteration, and helping you go from idea to live app faster than ever\*\*.\*\*
## How MCP Connectors Work
Connecting an app to Manus follows a simple three-step process:
1. Select a Connector: Choose from available integrations in your Manus settings. Popular options include Gmail, Notion, Stripe, HubSpot, Slack, Google Calendar, and Hugging Face.
2. Authenticate: Sign in to the service you want to connect and grant Manus the permissions it needs. This uses OAuth 2.0, the same secure authentication method used by major platforms. You control exactly what Manus can access.
3. Start Using: Once connected, simply mention the app in your prompts. Manus automatically uses the appropriate connector to read data or perform actions.[****](https://docs.lovable.dev/integrations/mcp-servers#prebuilt-mcp-servers)
## Multi-App Workflow Examples
The real power of MCP connectors emerges when you combine multiple integrations in a single workflow. Here are examples of what becomes possible:
### Notion + Google Calendar
**Prompt**:
```
Here's a link to my Notion event planning document. Write event descriptions for each item and add them to my Google Calendar."
```
**What Manus Does**:
1. Reads the Notion document to understand the event list
2. Generates appropriate descriptions for each event
3. Creates calendar entries in Google Calendar with the details
4. Updates the Notion document to reflect that events have been scheduled
**Why This Works**: Instead of manually copying information between Notion and Calendar, Manus handles the entire workflow. Information stays synchronized, and you save time on repetitive data entry.
### Gmail + Document Analysis
**Prompt**:
```
Check my Gmail for startup pitch emails from this week. Analyze the attached pitch decks and create a summary with key questions for each founder.
```
What Manus Does:
1. Searches Gmail for relevant emails based on your criteria
2. Downloads and analyzes pitch deck attachments
3. Extracts key information (problem, solution, team, metrics, risks)
4. Generates thoughtful questions for each founder
5. Creates a summary document with analysis and questions
Why This Works: Manus processes multiple emails and documents in parallel, extracting insights and preparing you for meetings without requiring you to manually review each pitch.
### Stripe + Data Analysis
**Prompt**:
```
Pull my Stripe revenue data for the past quarter, combine it with this CSV file of expenses, and create a financial projection spreadsheet.
```
What Manus Does:
1. Connects to your Stripe account and retrieves transaction data
2. Processes the uploaded CSV file with expense information
3. Combines both data sources into a unified dataset
4. Generates financial projections based on historical trends
5. Creates a formatted spreadsheet with charts and insights
Why This Works: Manus accesses real financial data from Stripe, eliminating manual export and data entry. The result is an accurate, up-to-date financial analysis based on your actual business metrics.
### HubSpot + Gmail + Notion
**Prompt**:
```
Find my sales call notes from Gmail, update the deal status in HubSpot, and create follow-up tasks in Notion."
```
What Manus Does:
1. Searches Gmail for sales call notes
2. Extracts key information and outcomes from the notes
3. Updates the corresponding deal in HubSpot with new status and notes
4. Creates actionable follow-up tasks in Notion with deadlines
5. Links all three systems so information stays synchronized
Why This Works: A single workflow updates your CRM, task manager, and email system. No manual data entry, no risk of forgetting to update a system, and complete visibility across platforms.
## Available Connectors
Manus offers MCP connectors for a growing list of popular tools and services, organized by category:
| Category | Connectors |
| :----------------- | :------------------------------------------- |
| **Productivity** | Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Notion |
| **Business & CRM** | HubSpot, Stripe |
| **Development** | GitHub, Hugging Face |
**Note**: This list represents commonly used connectors. Additional integrations are available, and new connectors are added regularly. Check your Manus settings to see the full list of available integrations.
# Nano Banana Pro
Source: https://manus.im/docs/integrations/nano-banana-pro
AI-powered image generation for visually stunning slides and graphics
## What is Nano Banana Pro?
Nano Banana Pro is Google's advanced image generation model, integrated directly into Manus for creating professional-quality visuals. When you need slides or images that look like they were designed by a studio, Nano Banana Pro generates custom, high-resolution imagery tailored specifically to your content.
This transforms Manus from a text-based tool into a complete visual content creation platform, capable of producing presentation decks and graphics that would typically require professional design software and expertise.
## Why Use Nano Banana Pro?
Most AI image generators struggle with two critical problems: they can't render readable text within images, and they can't maintain visual consistency across multiple outputs. This makes them impractical for professional presentations.
Nano Banana Pro solves both:
* Nano Banana's text rendering: Crisp, legible text integrated directly into images
* Manus's contextual understanding: Consistent artistic direction across entire decks
This enables professional-quality visual content without design skills or expensive software
## Getting Started with Nano Banana Pro
### For Slide Decks
1. Open Manus and navigate to the Slides section
2. Look for templates marked with the 🍌 Nano Banana icon OR just write your prompt
3. Write your prompt describing your presentation topic and desired style
4. Select slide count (typically 8-12 slides)
5. Generate and wait for your deck to be created (2-5 minutes)
### For Standalone Images
1. Navigate to Image Generation in Manus
2. Select "Nano Banana Pro" as your model
1. Describe the image you need with specific details
2. Generate and download your custom visual
Example:
```
Create a minimalist slide deck about sustainable fashion for a startup pitch.
Use earth tones and modern typography. Include sections on market opportunity,
our solution, and impact metrics.
```
### How Manus Generates Your Content
For slide decks, Manus:
1. Analyzes your prompt and understands your message
2. Creates a complete presentation outline
3. Determines visual direction (colors, layout, imagery)
4. Batch-generates all slides with consistent design
5. Delivers a ready-to-use deck
For standalone images, Manus generates custom visuals in moments.
### 4. Export and Use
Download your slides as PDF or individual images, ready for any platform.
### Use Dynamic Prompts
Combine Nano Banana Pro with other Manus features for powerful, data-driven presentations:
**Wide Research + Slides:**
```
Analyze 50 SaaS pricing pages, identify patterns, then create a pricing strategy presentation in a professional B2B style with data visualizations.
```
**Data Analysis + Slides:**
```
Analyze this sales data CSV, identify trends and insights, then create a quarterly business review deck using corporate colors and clean charts.
```
**Manus Browser Operator + Slides:**
```
Visit these 5 competitor websites, extract their key features and pricing, then create a competitive analysis deck using a modern, minimalist design.
```
**Scheduled Tasks + Slides:**
```
Every Monday at 9 AM: Research last week's AI news, summarize key developments, then create a weekly briefing deck using tech-forward design.
```
These combined workflows create presentations that are both visually stunning and backed by real data.
## Tips for Effective Use
**Be Specific About Style**\
✅ Good: "Minimalist design with earth tones and sans-serif typography"
❌ Vague: "Make it look good"
**Include Context**
✅ Good: "Pitch deck for sustainable fashion startup targeting Gen Z consumers"
❌ Vague: "Fashion presentation"
**Describe Visual Elements**
✅ Good: "Use photography of real products, natural lighting, lifestyle imagery"
❌ Vague: "Add some pictures"
Click the 🍌 Nano Banana Pro button in the Slides interface before entering your prompt. You'll see it next to the Slides button in the input area.
Yes. Manus can research topics, analyze data, or scrape websites, then automatically create visually stunning presentations with that information. Just describe the full workflow in your prompt.
Not yet, Nano Banana Pro slides are complete images with text rendered directly into the visual. For editable presentations, use Manus's standard HTML slides instead. But Manus will support this soon.
Use Nano Banana Pro for high-impact visual presentations (pitches, launches, keynotes). Use HTML slides for data-heavy content you'll update frequently or need to edit.
Image generation uses credits based on complexity and quantity. Check your Manus plan details for specific credit costs per slide or image.
Next steps: Try your first [Nano Banana Pro presentation](https://manus.im/tools/nano-banana-pro-slides). Open Manus Slides, select a Nano Banana template, and describe your vision.
# Slack Integration
Source: https://manus.im/docs/integrations/slack-integration
Bring Manus into your team conversations
## What is Manus for Slack?
Manus for Slack brings AI directly into your team conversations. Instead of leaving Slack to use AI, then copying results back, you can tag @manus in any thread and work together with your team in real-time.
Manus reads the entire thread context, understands what your team is discussing, and delivers results that everyone can see, review, and iterate on together.
## Why Manus for Slack Matters
### The Problem: Shared Context vs. Starting from Scratch
Your team discusses projects, shares files, and makes decisions in Slack. All your context lives there—what you discussed, what you decided, what files you shared.
But when you need AI help, you have to:
1. Leave Slack
2. Open your AI tool
3. Explain everything from scratch (no context)
4. Copy the result
5. Paste it back into Slack
Then a teammate asks something similar. They don't know you already asked, so they repeat the entire process. Now you have two different AI outputs floating around, and no one knows which one to use.
### The Solution: AI That Lives in the Conversation
With Manus in Slack, your AI becomes part of the team conversation:
* **Shared context**: Manus reads the entire thread, understanding what your team discussed
* **Collaborative**: Everyone sees Manus working in real-time
* **No copy-paste**: Results appear directly in the thread
* **Iterative**: Team can review and refine together
AI stops being a solo tool and becomes a team capability.
## How It Works
### 1. Tag @manus in Any Thread
In any Slack thread, tag @manus and describe what you need.
**Example**:
```
@manus Based on this discussion, create a landing page for our product launch
```
### 2. Manus Reads the Thread
Manus sees the entire thread context—messages, files, decisions, and discussions. It understands what your team is working on.
### 3. Everyone Sees Manus Working
Manus works transparently in the thread. Your team sees:
* What Manus is doing
* Progress updates
* When results are ready
### 4. Team Collaborates on Results
Results appear in the thread. Everyone can:
* Review the output
* Suggest changes
* Iterate together
* Approve the final version
No more "final\_v3\_FINAL\_actually\_final.pdf" chaos.
## Real-World Use Cases
### 1. Turn Documents into Presentations
**Scenario**: Your team discussed a strategy in Slack and shared a document. Now you need slides for a client meeting.
**In Slack**:
```
@manus Turn this strategy document into a slide deck for tomorrow's client meeting
```
**What Happens**:
* Manus reads the thread and document
* Creates a presentation based on the discussion
* Team reviews together
* Manus refines based on feedback
* Final deck ready for the meeting
**Result**: From discussion to presentation without leaving Slack.
***
### 2. Evaluate External Proposals
**Scenario**: An agency sent a pitch deck. Your team needs to evaluate it and decide whether to proceed.
**In Slack**:
```
@manus Analyze this pitch deck. What are the pros and cons? What key questions should we ask?
```
**What Happens**:
* Manus analyzes the deck
* Identifies strengths and weaknesses
* Suggests questions for the agency
* Team discusses and decides together
**Result**: Collaborative decision-making with AI insights.
***
### 3. Build from Team Discussions
**Scenario**: Your team spent an hour discussing a product launch in Slack. Now you need a landing page.
**In Slack**:
```
@manus Based on this thread, create a landing page for our product launch
```
**What Happens**:
* Manus reads the entire discussion
* Understands the product, value proposition, and target audience
* Builds a landing page reflecting the team's vision
* Team reviews and iterates
**Result**: From conversation to live website, all in Slack.
***
### 4. Schedule Meetings
**Scenario**: Your team needs to schedule a meeting with a client.
**In Slack**:
```
@manus Book a 1-hour meeting with @sarah next week to discuss the Q4 roadmap
```
**What Happens**:
* Manus checks Sarah's calendar (via Google Calendar connector)
* Finds available times
* Books the meeting
* Sends confirmations
**Result**: Meeting scheduled without leaving Slack.
## Collaboration Model
### Thread-Based Collaboration
When you tag @manus in a thread, everyone in that thread automatically becomes a collaborator. They can:
* See what Manus is doing
* Prompt Manus directly
* Review and refine results
* Approve final outputs
### Adding New Team Members
If someone joins a thread after Manus is already working:
1. They click "Open Web App" to request collaboration
2. The session owner approves the request
3. They can now interact with Manus
This ensures control over who can collaborate on sensitive tasks.
## Setting Up Manus for Slack
### Installation
1. Go to **Manus Settings** → **Integrations** → **Slack**
2. Click **Connect**
3. Authorize Manus to access your Slack workspace
4. Complete the setup
### Using Manus in Slack

| **Transparent AI** | See what Manus is doing at every step |
| **Team Alignment** | Everyone reviews and approves together |
## Tips for Effective Use
### Provide Context in the Thread
**✅ Good**: Discuss the project in the thread first, then tag @manus with a specific request
**❌ Less Effective**: Tag @manus with no context in the thread
Manus works best when it can read the team's discussion and understand the full context.
***
### Be Specific in Your Request
**✅ Good**: "@manus Create a 10-slide pitch deck based on this discussion. Focus on our unique value proposition and include the market size data from the thread."
**❌ Vague**: "@manus Make a presentation"
Specific requests help Manus deliver exactly what you need.
***
### Iterate Together
Don't expect perfection on the first try. Use the thread to refine:
* "@manus Make the intro slide more concise"
* "@manus Add a slide about our pricing strategy"
* "@manus Change the color scheme to match our brand"
***

# Welcome
Source: https://manus.im/docs/introduction/welcome
Learn about Manus and how to get started
Manus AI is an autonomous general AI agent designed to complete tasks and deliver results. Unlike traditional chatbots that simply answer questions, Manus AI takes action. Think of Manus AI as a virtual colleague with its own computer,capable of planning, executing, and delivering complete work products from start to finish.
## What Makes Manus AI Different?
Traditional AI tools require constant supervision and manual intervention. You guide them step by step, then piece together the results yourself. **Manus AI works differently**. It operates in a complete sandbox environment—a virtual computer with internet access, a persistent file system, and the ability to install software and create custom tools. This means Manus AI can work independently, remember context across long tasks, and deliver production-ready results without you managing every detail.
# Access Control
Source: https://manus.im/docs/website-builder/access-control
Manage access for your web application
Manus provides robust access control features to ensure that your application and its content are only accessible to the intended audience. You can secure your entire site or just specific sections, giving you granular control over who sees what.
## Built-in Login System
With a simple command, you can add a complete user authentication system to your application. This is essential for creating member-only areas, personalized content, and any feature that requires users to have an account.
The built-in system includes:
* **User Registration**: Allow users to sign up for an account with their email and a password.
* **Login/Logout**: Securely authenticate users and manage their sessions.
* **User Management**: View and manage your user base from a central dashboard.
**Example Prompt:**
> "Add a user login and registration system to my site. The login button should be in the top-right corner of the navigation bar."
## Role-Based and Individual Permissions
You can restrict access to your entire application or specific pages to certain individuals or teams. This is perfect for building internal tools, client portals, or staging environments.
| Use Case | Description |
| :----------------------- | :----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Internal Tools** | Build applications that are only accessible to your team, such as an internal dashboard or a knowledge base. |
| **Client Portals** | Create private, secure areas for your clients to view their project status, access exclusive content, or manage their account. |
| **Staging Environments** | Share a preview of your application with stakeholders for feedback before making it public. |
**Example Prompt:**

# App Publishing (mobile)
Source: https://manus.im/docs/website-builder/app-publishing
## What it is
App Publishing for Mobile (also known as App Sharing and Testing) is a powerful feature that closes the gap between building your mobile app and getting it into the hands of real users for testing. It is not a one-click “publish to store” button, but rather a guided workflow that automates the complex, technical steps of packaging and preparing your app for the Google Play Store and Apple's TestFlight.
This feature solves a major bottleneck for creators by handling the tedious work of creating testable builds. Instead of spending days navigating platform-specific requirements, you can get a live version of your app onto a real device in minutes, allowing you to accelerate your feedback loop and stay focused on improving your product.
## How to use it
Getting your mobile app ready for testers is a straightforward process within Manus. The steps differ slightly between Android and iOS.
### For Android (Google Play)
1. In your Manus workspace, navigate to the Publish to Google Play section.
2. Manus will automatically package your application into the required Android App Bundle (AAB) format.
3. Follow the provided link to your Google Play Console, where you can upload the AAB file and manage your testing tracks (e.g., Internal, Closed, Open) and eventual store release.
### For iOS (TestFlight)
1. First, ensure you have an active Apple Developer account.
2. In your Manus workspace, go to Publish, select the iOS tab, and click Create app.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions. Manus will handle the entire backend process: creating the app in your developer account, packaging the build, and uploading it directly to App Store Connect.
4. Once Apple has processed the build, you will receive an email notification from TestFlight. You can then install the app on your own device and use App Store Connect to invite other internal or external testers to do the same.
## What you need to know
* Developer Accounts are Required: To use this feature, you must have the appropriate developer account for the platform you are targeting. An Apple Developer account is mandatory for distributing apps via TestFlight, and a Google Play Developer account is required to upload builds to the Play Console.
* This is a Testing Feature, Not Direct Publishing: It is critical to understand that this feature prepares and uploads your app for testing in a controlled environment. The final step of making your app public on the App Store or Google Play is a separate process that you control entirely from within your respective developer accounts.
* Guided Workflow: The feature provides clear, step-by-step guidance, demystifying the path to launch by handling the most complex initial steps for you.
* Availability: App Publishing for Mobile is available to all Manus users with the Develop Apps capability enabled.
## Tips
* Gather Feedback Early and Often: The primary purpose of this feature is to accelerate your feedback loop. Use it to get your app in front of real users as early as possible to inform your design and development decisions.
* Prepare Your App Store Assets: While Manus automates the technical build process, you will still need to prepare your App Store and Google Play listing materials, such as screenshots, app descriptions, privacy policies, and keywords. It's a good idea to start working on these while your testers are providing feedback.
* Understand App Store Review Guidelines: Familiarize yourself with the review guidelines for both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Adhering to these rules is crucial for a smooth final submission process.
## FAQ
No. This feature prepares and uploads your app for testing in a controlled environment (TestFlight for iOS and the Google Play Console for Android). Publishing your app to be live on the App Store or Google Play is a separate process that you control through your respective developer accounts.
Yes. An Apple Developer account is required for sharing an iOS app, and a Google Play Developer account is required for sharing an Android app.
For Android, Manus packages the app into an AAB file for you to upload to the Google Play Console. For iOS, Manus provides a more integrated experience by directly uploading the build to App Store Connect and initiating the TestFlight process for you.
After Manus uploads your build, you will receive an email from TestFlight. You can then log in to App Store Connect to manage your tester lists and send out invitations.
# Cloud Infrastructure
Source: https://manus.im/docs/website-builder/cloud-infrastructure
Fully managed cloud infrastructure for Manus apps—backend, database, file storage, and one‑command deployment
Every web application you build with Manus is powered by a robust and scalable cloud infrastructure, completely managed for you. This means you get the power of a full-stack application without the complexity of managing servers, databases, or deployments. You can focus on building great user experiences, while Manus handles the technical heavy lifting.
Here’s a breakdown of the core components and what they enable you to do:
| Component | What It Is | Example Use Cases |
| :--------------- | :----------------------------------------------------------------- | :-------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Backend** | The "brain" of your application that works behind the scenes. | User logins, processing forms, connecting to APIs, custom business logic. |
| **Database** | The "memory" of your application where data is stored permanently. | User profiles, product lists, blog posts, saved settings, form submissions. |
| **File Storage** | The "filing cabinet" for your application's media and documents. | User-uploaded images, downloadable PDFs, video files, portfolios. |
| **Deployment** | The process of making your application live on the internet. | Publishing your site to a custom domain with a single command. |
***
## Backend: The Engine of Your Application
Unlike traditional website builders that only create a static frontend, Manus builds full-stack applications with a complete backend. This is the crucial server-side component that allows your application to perform actions, remember information, and interact with other services. It’s what makes your site a dynamic web *application* rather than just a static brochure.
With a backend, you can build features that require processing and logic. For example, you can tell Manus:
> "Create a user registration system with email and password authentication."
> "When a user submits the contact form, save the submission to the database and send me an email notification."
## Database: Your Application's Persistent Memory
Your application comes with an integrated, persistent database, which acts as its long-term memory. This is where you can store, retrieve, and manage information, allowing your application to grow and evolve. Manus handles all the complex database management tasks like configuration, maintenance, and scaling, so you don't have to.
Use the database to store any kind of structured information. For example:
> "Build a product catalog with fields for name, price, image, and description."
> "Create a blog and set up a database to store posts, each with a title, author, publication date, and content."
## File Storage: Securely Manage Your Assets
Manus provides secure and scalable file storage for your application. This allows both you and your users to upload and manage files like images, documents, and other media. It’s essential for creating rich, interactive experiences.
This feature is perfect for a wide range of uses. For example:
> "Add a profile picture upload feature to the user account page and store the images securely."
> "Create a 'Resources' page where I can upload and list PDF case studies for users to download."
## Deployment: Go Live Instantly
With Manus, deploying your application is as simple as giving a command. There are no servers to provision, no deployment scripts to write, and no separate hosting accounts to manage. Manus handles the entire process, ensuring your application is live and accessible to your users in minutes.
This unified process means you don't need to worry about services like AWS, Vercel, or Netlify. It's all included. For more details on making your site public, see the **Publishing and Collaboration** section.
# Code Control
Source: https://manus.im/docs/website-builder/code-control
Get full access to your app’s code so you can copy what you need or download the entire codebase and stay fully in control.
While Manus allows you to build and manage your entire web application without writing a single line of code, it also provides full access to the underlying code for those who want it. This ensures that you are never locked into the platform and have complete control over your application.
### Copy
You can copy snippets of code directly from the interface. This is useful if you want to inspect a specific component or reuse a piece of code in another project.
### Download
For complete control, you can download the entire codebase for your application at any time. This gives you a complete copy of all the frontend and backend files, allowing you to:
* **Move to Your Own Hosting**: You can take the code and host it on any server or platform of your choice.
* **Customize and Extend**: If you have development experience, you can modify the code to add custom features or make advanced modifications.
* **Integrate with Your Own Workflow**: You can integrate the code into your existing development workflow, such as a Git repository or a CI/CD pipeline.
This commitment to code transparency and portability ensures that you always have the flexibility to adapt and grow your application as your needs evolve.
# Custom Domains: Professionalize Your Brand
Source: https://manus.im/docs/website-builder/custom-domains
Your site goes live on a professional, branded URL in minutes.
A real product deserves a real address. Manus now lets you connect or purchase a custom domain directly inside the builder—no Namecheap detours, no DNS guesswork, no broken onboarding flow. You choose the domain, we handle the setup.
Give your web application a professional and memorable address by connecting your own custom domain. Manus makes it easy to publish your site to any domain or subdomain that you own.
### Connecting Your Domain
To connect your domain, you simply need to tell Manus which domain you want to use. For example:
> "Publish this site to my custom domain, [www.example.com](http://www.example.com)."
Manus will then provide you with the necessary DNS records that you will need to add to your domain registrar's settings. This typically involves adding or updating an A record or a CNAME record.
### Purchasing a Domain
Purchasing a custom domain inside Manus is now one of the fastest steps in going live. Instead of bouncing between external registrars and juggling DNS settings, you can search, buy, and secure your domain directly within the builder. Everything updates on the same page, and Manus handles the setup behind the scenes.
This means you can move from prototype to a fully branded, public site in minutes. Whether you are launching your first product or taking an existing project live, buying your domain through Manus keeps the entire process simple, consistent, and fast.
### Automatic SSL/HTTPS
Security is handled automatically. Once your domain is connected, Manus will provision and configure a free SSL/TLS certificate for your site. This ensures that all traffic to and from your application is encrypted, providing a secure experience for your users and improving your site's search engine ranking.

This document outlines the billing structure for websites built with Manus. It covers how you are charged for building, hosting, and powering experiences for your users.
## How Billing Works
Manus uses two distinct systems for billing:
1. Credit-Based System: Building and editing your website is charged using the existing credit-based system. This covers the development process itself.
2. Usage-Based System: A separate, usage-based system applies to hosting your website and powering experiences for your users. This includes cloud infrastructure, AI features, and API calls.
## Free Monthly Allowances
Every Manus account includes free monthly allowances to cover the initial costs of hosting your website. These allowances are designed to be sufficient for most projects until they experience significant user traffic.
| Resource Type | Free Monthly Allowance |
| :------------ | :--------------------- |
| Cloud | \$10 |
| AI | \$1 |
| API | \$1 |
These allowances reset at the beginning of each billing cycle.

# GitHub Integration
Source: https://manus.im/docs/website-builder/github-integration
Export your Manus project to a private GitHub repo, then keep working from either place. Manus and GitHub stay in step by automatically sending new changes and pulling the latest updates, so you can use your favorite coding tools without losing sync.
Think of GitHub as a cloud-based service for storing and managing code. Much like you might use Google Docs to write and save documents online, developers use GitHub to save their code, track changes over time, and collaborate with others.
Every project on GitHub is stored in a repository, which is like a folder for your project. Inside, you can find all the code files and a full history of every change that has been made. This makes it a powerful tool for version control and teamwork in software development.
## Connect your Manus project to GitHub
GitHub Integration allows you to export your Manus project's code to a new, private GitHub repository.
Once exported, a two-way sync is established between your Manus workspace and the GitHub repository.
This gives you the best of both worlds: the power of AI-driven development in Manus and the flexibility of working on your code in your own environment.
## How to Use It
1. Authorization: In your project's dashboard, click the GitHub icon in the top-right corner or navigate to the GitHub tab under Settings. If you haven't connected your GitHub account before, you will be prompted to authorize the connection.
2. Export to a New Repository: Once your account is connected, choose an owner (you or an organization you belong to) and a name for the new repository before clicking on "Create Repository". This action creates a new private repository in your GitHub account containing all of your project's code. Manus is automatically granted the necessary permissions to sync with this new repository.
Warning: Changing the repository's owner or name on GitHub after it has been created will break the connection with Manus.
* Sync Your Code: With the repository created, Manus keeps your project and the main branch of your GitHub repository in sync automatically.
* Automatic Push: When Manus generates or modifies code in your project, the changes are automatically pushed to the main branch.
* Automatic Pull: Before making any new code changes, Manus first pulls the latest version from the main branch to reduce the risk of conflicts.
* Manual Sync & Status Check: You can check the sync status at any time by clicking the GitHub icon. From there, you can also manually trigger a pull to ensure your Manus project is up-to-date with any changes you've made directly on GitHub.
## What You Need to Know
Once your code is on GitHub, you have full control. You can clone the repository to your local machine, make edits in your favorite IDE, and push your changes back to the main branch on GitHub. When you return to Manus, it will pull those updates before making its next set of changes, which helps keep your work in sync and reduces the chances of overwriting your manual edits.
Tip: Use Manus to generate the initial boilerplate and structure for your application. Then, export your code to GitHub and use your favorite IDE for the finishing touches and detailed implementation. Once you are ready, sync your work back to Manus for easy deployment and hosting.
## GitHub Connector Capabilities
Connecting your project to GitHub also activates the GitHub Connector, giving Manus the ability to help you manage your repository directly from the Manus interface. The permissions granted allow Manus to perform several common actions on your behalf:
* Manage Code: Read and write code, commit changes, and handle push/pull operations to keep your repository synced.
* Handle Issues: Create, view, edit, and close issues in your repository.
* Work with Pull Requests: Create, view, edit, and close pull requests.
* Organize Projects: Interact with your repository's project boards.
These capabilities allow for a more integrated workflow, where you can manage your development lifecycle without constantly switching between Manus and GitHub.
## Disconnecting the Integration
If you wish to stop syncing your project with GitHub, you can disconnect the integration from your project settings. Disconnecting will not delete your GitHub repository; it simply stops Manus from pushing or pulling any further changes. You will retain full ownership of the repository on GitHub, but your Manus project will no longer be connected to it.
## FAQ
This error can occur for two main reasons:
1. Your connection needs to be refreshed. To resolve this, go to your project settings, disconnect your GitHub account, and then reconnect it.
2. Manus does not have permission to access the repository. This can happen if you are trying to sync with a repository that was not originally created through the Manus export feature, or if the repository's name or owner was changed after creation. Ensure you are working with the repository that Manus created for your project under its original name and owner.
# Import from Figma: From Design to App in One Step
Source: https://manus.im/docs/website-builder/import-figma
Turn your Figma designs into a working web app by sharing links to the frame and describing what you want
For teams that use Figma for their design process, Manus offers a powerful integration that allows you to turn your designs into functional web applications with a single command.
### How It Works
Instead of manually translating your Figma designs into code, you can simply provide Manus with a link to your Figma file. Manus will analyze the design, including the layouts, components, fonts, and colors, and automatically generate the corresponding code for a web application.
### The Process
1. **Design in Figma**: Create your application design in Figma as you normally would.
2. **Provide the Link**: Share the Figma frame link with Manus and describe what you want to build.
For example:
> "Here is the Figma design for our new mobile app. Build a functional web application based on this design."
3. **Manus Builds the App**: Manus will interpret the design and generate the HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for the frontend, as well as the necessary backend components to bring your design to life.
You can attach multiple frames to your request. Tell Manus how these frames relate—page flow, interactions, or component states (like hover). This helps Manus generate accurate multi-page or interactive experiences.
This integration dramatically accelerates the development process, bridging the gap between design and development and allowing you to go from a static design to a live, interactive application in a fraction of the time.
# Make a Copy
Source: https://manus.im/docs/website-builder/make-a-copy
## What it is
The "Make a Copy" feature allows you to duplicate your existing WebDev projects into new, independent sessions. This creates a safe sandbox for experimentation or a reusable template for future projects.
Whether you want to try out a risky new feature without breaking your working site, or you want to use an existing project as a base template to build variations, "Make a Copy" gives you a clean slate while preserving your original work.
## How to use it
You can make a copy of your project from two convenient locations:
**From the Library:**
1. Navigate to your Library.
2. Find the project you want to duplicate.
3. Click the three-dot context menu on the project card.
4. Select Make a Copy.
**From the WebDev Editor:**
1. Open the project you want to copy in the WebDev editor.
2. Go to the project settings and open the General tab.
3. Under the "Project Actions" section, click the Make a Copy button.
## What users need to know
When you make a copy of a project, it is important to understand what is transferred to the new session and what is not:
* Source Code: The full codebase (from the latest commit) is transferred. Your new project will look and function just like the original code-wise.
* Secrets: The names (definitions) of your secret keys and their actual values are transferred to the new copy, so your API integrations will continue to work seamlessly.
* Database: The database schema is copied so your app's structure remains intact, but the actual data is not transferred. Your new project starts with a fresh, empty database.
* Integrations (Stripe): If your original project uses Stripe, you can choose whether to transfer the same sandbox to the new session to continue testing.
* Publishing & Domains: The new project starts unpublished and does not inherit any custom domain settings from the original.
* GitHub Connection: The GitHub connection is not transferred. You will need to connect the new project to its own repository if desired.
* AI Chat History: The conversation history from the original project is not transferred to the new session.
## Tips
* Safe Experimentation: Before asking Manus to perform a major architectural change or framework swap, make a copy of your project. If the experiment goes wrong, you still have your pristine original project to fall back on.
* Build a Template Library: If you frequently build similar types of websites (like landing pages or portfolios), create a "base template" project. Whenever you need a new site, just make a copy of your template instead of starting from scratch.
* Check Your Database: Remember that your database data does not carry over. If your app relies on specific initial data to function properly, you will need to ask Manus to recreate or seed that data in the new project.
## FAQ
No. The new project is completely independent. Any changes you make to the code, database, or settings in the copy will not affect the original project.
To ensure a clean slate and prevent unintended data corruption or privacy issues, only the database schema (the structure) is copied. The actual rows of data are not transferred.
No. Copied projects start in an unpublished state. You will need to publish the new project separately when you are ready.
Currently, you can only make copies of your own projects. However, the ability to copy team projects and public community templates is coming down the road!

How to monetize your builds
# Stripe Integration: Effortless Payments
Manus revolutionizes how you integrate payments by partnering with Stripe to offer a "build first, sign up later" workflow. This eliminates the traditional friction of setting up a payments system, allowing you to go from idea to income in a fraction of the time.
### The Traditional Problem
Typically, accepting online payments requires a multi-step, technical process: you must first sign up for a payment provider, navigate complex dashboards to configure products and webhooks, build and test your integration, and only then can you deploy your application. This process can take days or even weeks and often requires specialized expertise.
### The Manus Solution: Build First, Sign Up Later
Manus flips the traditional model on its head. You can start building your application and integrating payment functionality immediately. The moment you decide to add payments, Manus automatically creates a **Stripe claimable sandbox** for you. This is a temporary, fully-featured Stripe account that requires no initial signup.
This approach provides several key advantages:
* **Zero-Friction Start**: Begin building and testing your payment flows instantly without the barrier of a signup form.
* **Complete Testing Environment**: The sandbox replicates Stripe's live environment, allowing you to test your entire checkout process, including subscriptions and payment confirmations, without using real money.
* **Designed for AI Agents**: This technology allows Manus to securely build and configure your entire payment system on your behalf in a controlled environment.
### What Manus Handles Automatically
When you ask Manus to add payments, it acts as your personal payments specialist, handling the complex configuration tasks for you:
* **Automated Product Setup**: Manus translates your business logic into the corresponding products and subscription models in your Stripe sandbox.
* **Webhook Configuration**: It automatically sets up the necessary webhooks to ensure seamless communication between your application and Stripe for events like successful payments.
* **End-to-End Testing**: The entire checkout flow is built and tested in the sandbox, ensuring everything works as expected before you go live.
### Step-by-Step: Adding Payments
1. **Tell Manus Your Goal**: Simply state what you want to sell, for example: `"Add Stripe payments for a premium subscription at $49/month."`
2. **Manus Sets Up the Sandbox**: Manus will create the claimable sandbox and configure all the necessary products, pricing, and webhooks.
3. **Test Your Checkout Flow**: You can test the entire payment process in the live preview to ensure everything is working correctly.
4. **Go Live**: When you are satisfied, tell Manus: `"I'm ready to go live with payments."` You will then be prompted to "claim" the sandbox, which involves creating your official Stripe account and completing their secure Know Your Customer (KYC) process. All the configurations Manus created are seamlessly transferred to your new, permanent Stripe account, ready to accept real payments instantly.

# Publishing
Source: https://manus.im/docs/website-builder/publishing
Build and go live
With Manus, publishing your web application is a straightforward, one-step process. There are no servers to configure, no deployment pipelines to build, and no complex technical hurdles to overcome.
## The Publishing Process
1. **Finalize Your Web Application**: Ensure that you have completed all the necessary edits and tested your application in the preview window.
2. **Publish Your Web Application:** Click Publish and you will be able to access your website
3. **Manus Handles the Rest**: Manus will take care of the entire deployment process, including:
* Provisioning the necessary cloud infrastructure.
* Building and optimizing your application for production.
* Deploying it to a secure, scalable hosting environment.
* Configuring the necessary DNS settings if you are using a custom domain.
Your application will be live and accessible to your users within minutes. You can continue to make changes and update your application at any time by simply describing the modifications you want, and Manus will handle the redeployment process automatically.
## Custom Domains: Professionalize Your Brand
## Hosting Modes
When you publish a web application, you can choose between two hosting modes depending on your needs.
### Autoscale (Default)
Your application runs on Google Cloud Run. It scales from zero when there's no traffic, and scales up automatically to handle demand.
| Spec | Detail |
| :----------- | :-------------------------------------------------------- |
| CPU | 1 vCPU per instance |
| Memory | 512 MB per instance |
| Auto-scaling | 0 to 5 instances |
| Cold starts | Yes — instances spin up on first request after inactivity |
| Region | US (default) |
| Pricing | Billed per active request duration. \$0 when idle. |
Autoscale hosting is ideal for most web applications: APIs, dashboards, form-based tools, and sites with variable traffic.
### Reserved
Your application runs on a reserved instance. It stays running continuously — there are no cold starts and no request timeout.
| Spec | Detail |
| :----------- | :----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| CPU | 1 vCPU |
| Memory | 512 MB |
| Auto-scaling | No — single persistent process |
| Cold starts | No — always warm and ready |
| Region | US (default) |
| Pricing | Billed by actual CPU and memory consumption. Up to \~\$36/month at full utilization. |
Reserved hosting is designed for workloads that need a persistent process: background workers, WebSocket connections, message queues, bots, real-time data streams, or long-running jobs.
### Choosing Between Them
| Consideration | Autoscale | Reserved |
| :-------------------------------------- | :------------------------------- | :---------------------------------------------------- |
| Traffic pattern | Sporadic or bursty | Continuous or event-driven |
| Cost when idle | \$0 | Low (idle process still consumes minimal resources) |
| Persistent connections (WebSocket, SSE) | Not recommended | Recommended |
| Background workers / queues | Not supported | Supported |
| Handles traffic spikes | Yes — auto-scales to 5 instances | Throttled — single instance may slow under heavy load |
You can switch between hosting modes at any time from the project settings.
Each account includes a complimentary monthly \$10 budget of credits shared between hosting and database cloud usage.
# Schedules
Source: https://manus.im/docs/website-builder/schedules
Schedules let your website stay alive over time. Without them, your app mostly reacts only when someone visits or clicks. With Schedules, you can automate recurring background tasks and empower your users to build their own automations—turning a static site into an active, always-on application.
## What it is
Schedules allow you to run automated, recurring tasks in the background of your web application. There are two main ways to use them:
**App-owned schedules** are defined by you, the website creator, and are perfect for global app-wide logic.
**User-owned schedules** are created by the end-users of your application. This allows you to build apps where your users can define their own automations. For example:
* A newsletter app where each user chooses their topic, email address, delivery cadence, and time of day
* A habit tracker where users schedule their own personalized reminders
Both app-owned and user-owned schedules run in exactly the same way. The only difference is who creates them.
## How to use it
Setting up schedules is done conversationally. You simply tell Manus what automated tasks you want your app to perform. Manus will write the logic into your website code and register the cron job automatically.
### Adding an app-owned schedule
Describe the recurring task you want to automate directly in the Manus chat. For example:
> "Set up a schedule to fetch the latest stock prices from the API every 15 minutes and update the dashboard."
Manus will write the necessary backend logic and register the schedule to run at your specified interval.
### Adding user-owned schedules
To let your app's users create their own schedules, ask Manus to build the feature into your app:
> "Create a feature where my users can schedule a daily email reminder for their tasks, letting them pick the time of day."
Manus will build the UI for your users and handle the underlying schedule creation dynamically.
### Managing your schedules
You can view, pause, or delete your schedules at any time from **Settings > Schedules** in your Manus project dashboard. The dashboard shows each schedule's status, next run time, success rate, average duration, and full run history.
## Limitations & Configurations
| Detail | Value |
| :------------------------ | :------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Minimum frequency | Every 1 minute |
| Maximum schedules per app | 5 |
| Timezone | UTC (Manus handles conversions when you specify a local time) |
**Timezones:** All schedules run in UTC. When you ask Manus to create a schedule for a specific local time (e.g., "every day at 9 AM Tokyo time"), Manus will automatically handle the conversion to UTC for you.
**Failures and retries:** If a scheduled job fails, the scheduler will automatically retry it up to 3 total attempts with exponential backoff. You can view the detailed response payload and error logs in the Run History section of the dashboard. Click **Investigate** to have Manus automatically analyze and fix the error.
App-owned Schedules are created by the app builder for global app behavior. User-owned Schedules are created by users inside the app for personal reminders, newsletters, alerts, or reports.
No. You describe the scheduled behavior you want, and Manus handles the setup for the task or web app.
You can manage them from Settings > Schedules in the Manus project dashboard, where you can review status, next run time, success rate, average duration, and run history.
# Search Engine Optimization

Built-in SEO for sites created and published on Manus
The built-in SEO feature in Manus is a powerful tool designed to improve your web app's visibility on search engines like Google. It automatically makes your Manus-built websites more search-engine-friendly, helping you attract more organic traffic. The system works by generating a prerendered, static HTML version of your site specifically for search engine bots. This ensures that your content can be easily crawled, indexed, and ranked, while your human visitors continue to enjoy the rich, interactive experience you designed.
## How to Use It
Optimizing your site for search engines is a straightforward process with Manus. Follow these steps to get started:
1. **Enable SEO:** Navigate to your project's Settings, publish your site, and toggle on the SEO feature. This will initiate the automatic prerendering process.
2. **Check Your Score:** Go to the SEO tab in your project dashboard. Here, you'll find a real-time health score for your page and a checklist of important SEO metrics.
3. **Fix with AI:** Instead of manually fixing these issues, you can use the “Optimize with Manus” button. This AI-powered feature will analyze your page content and automatically generate optimized titles, descriptions, and keywords for you.
4. **Identify Issues:** The SEO dashboard will highlight any issues. These might include missing meta descriptions, a lack of keywords, or other on-page SEO problems.
5. **Verify & Rank:** Once the optimizations are applied, you'll see your SEO score improve. Your site is now technically optimized for search engine crawlers.

## FAQ
Not at all. These features are designed to automate the most complex technical aspects of SEO, so you can improve your ranking without being an expert. The dashboard provides simple, clear guidance, and the AI-powered "Optimize with Manus" feature can handle the implementation for you.
It doesn't. The prerendered version of your site is only served to search engine bots. Your human visitors will continue to experience the fast, dynamic version of your site exactly as you designed it.
Manus does not currently support a "Private Publish" option. However, without enabling SEO optimization, your site will be much harder for search engines to discover and index effectively. For restricted access, you can share your project via email with specific visitors or publish it within your team.
# Third-Party Integrations
Source: https://manus.im/docs/website-builder/third-party-integrations
Connect Stripe, Shopify, Google Maps, or any REST API—secure keys, simple natural‑language setup.
Manus allows you to extend the functionality of your web application by integrating with a variety of third-party services. This enables you to build more powerful and feature-rich applications without leaving the conversational interface.
### Stripe
Integrate a complete, secure, and production-ready payment system with Stripe. Manus handles the entire process, from creating products and subscription models to configuring webhooks and testing the checkout flow. For more details, see the dedicated "[Payments](payments)" section.
### Shopify
Connect a full commerce backend to any storefront Manus builds. Manus handles the entire process — from creating a development store and populating products to configuring collections, syncing inventory, and routing checkout through Shopify. Build, manage, and grow your store from a single conversation.
### Google Maps
Incorporate location-based features into your application with Google Maps. You can:
* Display interactive maps.
* Show the location of your business or points of interest.
* Build features like store locators or delivery tracking.
To add a map, simply describe where you want it and what it should display, for example:
> "Add a Google Map to the contact page showing our office location at 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA."
### Custom API
Connect to any third-party service with a REST API to pull in external data or trigger actions in other systems. Manus can handle the authentication and make requests to the API on your behalf. To set up a custom integration, you will need to provide the API endpoint, authentication details (such as an API key), and a description of the data you want to access or the actions you want to perform.
### API Secrets: Securely Manage Your Keys
When integrating with third-party services, such as Google Maps or a custom API, you will often need to use API keys or other secrets to authenticate your requests. Manus provides a secure way to manage these secrets, ensuring they are not exposed in your frontend code.
### Adding API Secret key
You can add API secret key to your project by providing them to Manus in the conversational interface. Manus will store these secret key securely and use them to make authenticated requests on your behalf from the backend.
For example, when setting up a custom API integration, you might say:
> "I need to connect to a custom API. The API key is YOUR\_API\_KEY. Please use this key in the Authorization header for all requests."
Manus will store the API key as an environment variable on the server and will not expose it in the client-side code. This ensures that your secrets remain confidential and your application is secure.
